How to Sort Data in EXCEL Based on the amount of letters in a word - you want to sort some data in Microsoft Excel based on the number of letters in his (number of characters)? It's easy. Simply follow the steps below.
  • On the left or the right hand column of the data to be sorted, make a column that was given formula:

=LEN(sel referensi)

For example, you want to sort the data in column D (D1 to D7), then place the formula in column E1:

=LEN(E1)
  • Fill the formula up to the amount of data you have. In the example images to E7.
  • Now you sort columns E with facilities SORT, up as you want, Sort Smallest to Largest (from which the word count most small / slightly to the greatest / lot) or Sort Largest to Smallest (from which the word count most large / lot until the smallest / bit).
  • If you do not want to display the auxiliary column to sort, namely the E column, you can delete it after completion sorted.
